This year, The Metaphysical Shoppe proudly celebrates 65 years of serving Jersey City. While our name and appearance have evolved with the times, our purpose has remained remarkably consistent. We have always believed that everyone deserves a welcoming place to explore their spiritual path, ask life’s biggest questions, and leave feeling a little lighter than when they arrived.

As we celebrate this anniversary, we are reflecting on the journey that brought us here, the community that has supported us, and the exciting future that lies ahead.

A Legacy Rooted in Spirit

Some businesses begin with an idea. Ours began with a spiritual calling.

Long before spirituality found its place in the mainstream, our family opened a small shop in Jersey City with the simple intention of helping others. People arrived seeking guidance during life’s happiest moments, its greatest challenges, and everything in between. Some came searching for answers. Others simply needed someone who would listen without judgment.

Over time, those visitors became neighbors. Those neighbors became friends. Many returned years later with children and grandchildren of their own.

For 65 years, our shop has been woven into the fabric of the local community, quietly growing alongside the city we have always called home.

Carrying a Family Tradition Forward

About twenty-five years ago, Gino accepted the responsibility of carrying the family business forward after his grandmother stepped away.

Reflecting on that decision, Gino says:

My grandmother built something that meant so much to so many people. Continuing her work has always been about honoring what she created while allowing it to grow alongside the community that has supported us for generations.

That philosophy continues to shape everything we do today.

The Metaphysical Shoppe remains family owned and family operated in the very same Jersey City location where our story first began. We are proud to be the oldest continuously operating metaphysical retailer in New Jersey. Across the United States, we are honored to be recognized as the fifth oldest brick-and-mortar spiritual retailer, a distinction made possible by the trust and loyalty of the community we have served for more than six decades.

Honoring Our Past While Welcoming the Future

If you visited us years ago, you may notice a few changes.

Our storefront has received a thoughtful refresh. We have introduced a new logo and embraced a new name, The Metaphysical Shoppe, while preserving the welcoming atmosphere that has always defined us.

The shelves continue to hold the crystals, candles, incense, tarot decks, herbs, oils, and spiritual tools that so many have come to know over the years. More importantly, the spirit of the shop remains unchanged. We are still guided by the same values of compassion, authenticity, and meaningful connection that have shaped our family for generations.

Growing Alongside Our Community

As the spiritual needs of our community have grown, so have we.

While Gino continues to offer his renowned clairvoyant and spirit channel readings, we have expanded our services to welcome more people, more often, and in more ways than ever before.

Today, visitors can connect with our master astrologer for personalized consultations, both in person and virtually. Our team also includes three intuitive tarot readers, each bringing their own unique perspective and style to every session.

To make these services more accessible, we have officially expanded our business hours and are now open six days a week, offering spiritual guidance throughout most of the week.

Our shop has also become a gathering place for workshops, community events, and creative experiences that invite people to learn, connect, and celebrate spirituality together.

A New Chapter Begins

Our sixty-fifth anniversary is not only a celebration of our past. It is also the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

For the first time in our history, The Metaphysical Shoppe is launching an online store, allowing customers throughout the 48 contiguous United States to shop our carefully curated collection of spiritual products from wherever they call home.

Our local community has already embraced the convenience of shopping with us through DoorDash for local pickup and delivery. Now we are delighted to extend that same level of care beyond Jersey City, making it possible for people across the country to experience the products that have filled our shelves for generations.

Whether someone visits us in person or online, our mission remains exactly as it has always been. We are here to offer authentic products, thoughtful guidance, and a welcoming place where every spiritual journey is respected.
